In the 2000 model year, Carpenter
unveiled a new line of buses, including conventionals, front engines
(FEs), and rear engines (REs). The conventional and front engines
made it in to service, while the Chancellor RE appeared to never
have become a production bus, due to Carpenter's bankruptcy in 2001.
Carpenter certainly wanted to become a "player" in the industry
again, but due to previous mismanagement and worries, their parent
company cut them short before giving them a chance to fly with the
new models. |
