About School Bus Central

School Bus Central began as a humble site called Richards School Bus Stop in December of 2001, featuring low quality images, and a basic Yahoo!-format website. At the time, it only featured photos from the webmaster\\\'s school district, and was intended to show some of the unique buses in the district.

After a few months of working on Richards School Bus Stop, the decision was made to start something new, something focused outside of the webmasters district. In July 2002, School Bus Central launched, with a significant improvement in content, including a large links section, and more photographs.

School Bus Central continued to evolve from that point on, with significant upgrades in June 2003, and January 2005 to improve the viewers experience. Eventually, during that timespan, SBC grew to feature the most school bus images anywhere online, many of which include rare photographs and literature scans.

A New Beginning - SBC 4

In the spring of 2006, exploration began on finding a professional web design firm to create a new School Bus Central, dubbed SBC 4, to give users an entirely new way to enjoy buses, and find bus information. Richard, the site webmaster, developed a site outline featuring an intuitive database, which allows any registered user to submit content. This system is intended to make the process of taking photos and putting them online extremely simple, in an effort to encourage more users to show off their buses!

SBC 4 also features an extensive user forum, designed to improve communication, and bring out plenty of information about the bus industry, its products, and more.

We are proud to have grown from just a basic photo site to a page that now offers interaction with industry professionals, as a place to network and find out more about the industry.

About the Webmaster

Richard the webmaster and founder of SBC began his fascination with school buses as a young child riding the bus. Since that time, he has grown to become an industry member, and work full time around school buses. A member of various industry associations, and an attendee of a number of industry conferences, he aims to provide an excellent resource for others to learn about buses.
Outside of working in the industry, Richard enjoys cars, travel, cooking, music, restoring buses, and being with friends and family.
